Patrick Chappatte is an editorial cartoonist for the International Herald Tribune. His cartoons appear twice a week in the Views section as well as on The New York Times' Global Edition website. He also draws for Le Temps in Geneva and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. He has contributed to The New York Times Book Review and was the creator of a comic strip for Newsweek International. Over the past 15 years, he has developed graphic journalism, a genre of reporting using the techniques of graphic novels. Reports include the war in Gaza, New York after 9/11, and the slums of Nairobi. Chappatte lives in Geneva, Switzerland, with his wife and three children.
