'Atheist'/comedian Ricky Gervais offers 'Easter Message' challenging Christians to be more... Christian

English comedian/writer/director/producer Ricky Gervais has gone out on a limb... or rather, up on a cross, for his latest comedy/social commentary bit -- one in which he claims he's a better Christian than most Christians even though he's an atheist.

Gbagbo's happy face, his arrest and the link to U.S. Christians and Sen. Inhofe
Yesterday a strange thing happened on the floor of the U.S. Senate. A senator stood up and personally defended Laurent Gbagbo, the Ivory Coast president that many human rights organizations around the world have identified as a tyrant. Sen. James Inhofe, aided by poster-sized photos of Gbagbo and one of Gbagbo's two wives, Simone, told Congress, “This is the happy face of President Gbagbo. This is the face I know.” The photo shown by the Oklahoma Republican was of a wide-grinning and formerly-all-powerful Gbagbo.

Over the weekend, as many as 169 members of a Christian church were detained in China as they attempted to pray in public. The episode was prompted by the eviction of the 1,000-member Protestant Shouwang church, which is not recognized by government officials, from a space it rents, according to The New York Times. In an interesting trend seen in political actions throughout Northern Africa, the members of the church had become aware of the protest prayer session via online networks.
