That's according to the U.S. Census Bureau, which is using one of the most-watched events of the year to remind us that 2010 Census questionnaires will be in our mail boxes in about a month. Citing 2008 data, the median household incomes for people in New Orleans, Indianapolis and Miami are $37,751, $43,652, and $28,333, respectively. Most of the players on the Colts and Saints 53-man rosters, as well as players on injured reserve, will each receive $42,000 to play in the Super Bowl. Moreover, the players on the team that wins will walk away with a cool $83,000 each. Sure, the players risk injury to themselves every time they step on the football field, but it's with the recession on and unemployment high, how many breadwinners would be willing to do the same if they could? Consider also that each player made $38,000 during their respective conference championship games -- or the $21,000 each made in the playoff game before that. Share |

We'll get to see men make more money in the course of a 60-minute game earn more than the median household incomes of people in Miami, where the New Orleans Saints will face the Indianapolis Colts.
