GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle: Four times the Google, but why?

Finding Stuff Online

google_fourOut there, on the Internet, there's a search engine more whacked than the nefarious Mystery Google known for turning up totally bogus search results. We're talking about the newest oddity in cyberspace that aims to capitalize on the ever-present Google: GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle.com. That's no typo. And the bonus is this version of Google, which isn't Google (an official Google.com site, that is), turns up the correct search results. Of course you have to type all those Gs and Os into your browser.

It's quite dizzying. If you do, you'll be taken to a page with four mirrors of Google outlined in blue, red, yellow and green. Now you can totally geek out by conducting four searches at the same time. Ooooh... aaahh...

The creators are Erty Seidel and Alex Sowieja. You can google them simultaneously on their crazy site of search engine overdose.

Why are there four Googles? Here's the site's answer: "Alex and Erty were chatting on Google Talk one night, and Erty wondered if Googlegoogle.com was taken. He jokingly wondered if they could set up a search service for Google itself. Unfortunately, Googlegoogle.com was taken, but Alex pointed out that GoogleGoogleGooglegoogle.com was available. In a impulse buy, they purchased the domain (Alex already had some hosting) and someone had the idea of putting four Googles on the page. Thus, GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle was born."

The fellas say the site is legal and they'd love some kind of formal welcoming from the real Google. Where is the money coming from? That something the creators are working on. They write that they are "trying hard to make this a cool, free service" and committed to "keeping this service ad free," but could use some donations to keep it going.
