David Sills video: the kid bound for USC

sill_quThe University of Southern California's new coach, Lane Kiffin, isn't the most mature guy in the world. After all, he quit the University of Tennessee after only one year and hardly could answer questions about the betrayal afterwards. Kiffin's latest recruiting move makes him seem more unstable than ever. He's apparently ready to give 13-year-old David Sills a chance to play at USC, making the kid the first verbal commitment of 2015.

Sills of Bear, Del. has yet to go to high school. It all seems a huge coup for Steve Clarkson, a quarterbacks coach who travels the country putting on clinics and workshops for kids. He provided the media with a strangely commercial-like YouTube video, set to music, highlighting Sills' playing on the football field. It feels odd to watch, though, as Sills and all the other players are just post-peewee football players running around the field. Kiffin should let the kid grow up a bit before he offers him a chance to play for one of the nation's premier college football programs. Then again, this is Kiffin we're talking about, not exactly someone known for thinking over the long term. Hopefully he'll still be around in 2015 to make good on his offer to Sills.
