Xia Lichuan is a professional cartoonist with Caijing Magazine, a business and finance review in China. Her award-winning works have been exhibited in many countries. She is China’s sole member in the Paris-based Cartooning for Peace organization. She says, "People always think I am a man when they see my cartoons. Few women work as press cartoonists in China -- or even in the world. I have been in this field for almost 10 years, drawing cartoons about big events, such as wars, financial crisis, terrorism, and the problems of environment. I’ve drawn caricatures of world leaders, such as George W. Bush and Barack Obama. I have also drawn a few cartoons about topics in China, such as the dust storm in Beijing. I prefer drawing cartoons on international events."
