Roxxxy robot girlfriend, a strange but true companion

She can talk to you and feel your touch. "She can even have an orgasm!" That's according to the promo material for "Roxxxy," the lingerie-wearing brunette sex robot in high heels, whose middle name may as well be "Triple X." The rubber-encased, life-sized sex device was on display at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas over the weekend and reportedly said, "I love holding hands with you" when it's caretaker reached out. Roxxxy, whose remaining vocabulary has yet to be field tested, is anatomically correct and “Always Turned On and Ready to Talk or Play!” according to materials from the manufacturer, True Companion.

The development, as we see it now, is the first step in a bleak and narcissistic future for humankind. We've touched on the subject here at dscriber before -- one where robotic cats will amuse the elderly and children, robot cab drivers will offer up banal conversation, and sex robots will keep us disease free, albeit lonely.

Fret not ladies, you, too are part of this future. True Companion is developing a male robot named "Rocky."

The Story Behind “Roxxxy TrueCompanion:"
The initial concept for the current sex robot began with a conversation several years ago. A friend and Douglas Hines were remembering a dear friend who passed away. Douglas thought that it was sad to not be able to ever talk to him again. He said “wouldn't it be great if I could create a robot with artificial intelligence and have it hold someone's personality and preferences - this way, we could talk to the robotic version of that person and ask it questions whenever we wanted?" We thought it was a great idea though we both agreed that it would be a very big undertaking.

On 9/11/2001, that good friend also passed away in Tower 1 at the World Trade Center. And now we cannot talk to that person... so, this made Douglas think seriously about how to implement a robotic representation of a person and have it reflect that person’s personality.

After test marketing, the concept changed in order to capitalize on the enormous adult entertainment industry.
