Evan Turner's spectacular last-second basket deflates Michigan

Incredible!

Ohio State's thrilling 69-68 win over Michigan on a last-second Evan Turner three-pointer shows exactly why this time of year is among the most exciting for American sports fans. Ohio State started slow in the Big 10 tournament quarterfinal. But by the half, Ohio State lived up to its Big 10 top seed billing, going on a 25-6 run and getting up on Michigan 35-25. In the second half, Michigan managed to rally, eventually pulling ahead of Ohio State on a beautiful 15-footer from Manny Harris, who hit what looked like the game-winning shot with just 2.2 seconds left in the game. That set the stage for Ohio State's Evan Turner, the likely National Player of the Year. Ohio State had to bring the ball the length of the floor, but Turner didn't need that much space. After taking the inbound pass, he got a few feet past the half-court line and hit a monster three-pointer at the buzzer. Turner finished the game with 18 points and 8 assists, along with a video clip that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Curiously, Michigan didn't really defend the inbound pass or make Turner work to get across the half-court line, a coaching error that will likely haunt coach John Beilein for a long time.

Turner's buzzer beater also obscures one hell of a performance from Harris, who looked unstoppable in the second half and down the stretch. He finished the game with  26 points.
