Gavin Ehringer is an award-winning freelance writer/photographer. His work has appeared in national and international large-market publications including People Weekly, Cowboys & Indians, International Living and Encyclopedia Britannica.

He was a regular winter-sports columnist for the Rocky Mountain News, with wide distribution of his columns on the Internet. He is a three-time winner of the American Quarter Horse Association Steeldust award for outstanding editorial content in large-market publications. For 15 years, he covered the sport of rodeo as a columnist for Western Horseman, the world's leading equestrian publication.

Gavin is the author of six non-fiction books and is working on his seventh, to be titled "Coming to the Fire: The Unnatural History of Dogs, Cats, Horses and Cows". He lives in Gig Harbor, Washington, and Mexico.
